23. Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church

SATURDAY 16 and SUNDAY 17
MARCH 2024

Meeting Point

Parvis Saint Jean-Baptiste, 1080 Molenbeek-Saint-Jean

This building by the architect Joseph Diongre is one of the three concrete churches in Brussels. Built in 1931, it is remarkable due to its vast vault, both ample and light, and its impressive 56-metre-tall bell tower. While the exterior consists essentially of white stone, the interior gives pride of place to different Belgian marbles. The stained glass windows composed of 604 pre-fabricated panels fill the spaces between the reinforced concrete arches.
