The fabulous story of the modernists quarrel

Saturday 22 March 2025 from 2PM to 4PM

As part of the 2025 edition of BANAD, CIVA invites you to discover Art Deco from a new perspective through an intergenerational workshop.

Do you prefer the straight line or the arabesque? Black marble or the sobriety of a concrete façade? Do you gladly add scrolls and patterns, or do you opt for the austerity of a sleek volume? Will your gramophone play a waltz or a jazzy tune? Will you step out draped in an exotic gown or a sharp garçonne-style suit?

These were key aesthetic questions that captivated minds during the Roaring Twenties, at the same time as the debate between Art Deco and Modern Art set newspapers and discussions ablaze.

Come and explore these fascinating topics on Saturday, March 22, 2025, with our guide Rachel and graphic artist Christophe. We'll blend knowledge and hands-on creativity in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere.
